Cherise Charleswell MPH, Development and Outreach Manager at Journey Out, talks with Podcast host Carmi Bleviss about helping victims of sexual exploitation in the face of the worse epidemic in modern history.
Journey Out is a nonprofit based in Los Angeles which has provided services to victims and survivors of sex trafficking since 1980. The organization’s mission is “to help victims of commercial sexual exploitation and sex trafficking leave a life of abuse and violence, overcome their fears, and empower them to reach their full potential and achieve their goals. Our overarching goals are two-fold: first, deliver the critical services and support needed to break free from the abuse and violence of sex trafficking and rebuild a life; and second, to ensure that no one enters “the life”.
